Brad Armistead

I was born and raised in Richmond, VA and attended Monacan High School. I then took my studies to East Carolina University (Go Pirates!) where I received my B.S. in Financial Management in 2003. I relocated to Greensboro, NC in 2005 and first got into the Mortgage Business late that same year joining The Young Team, Inc. The Young Team, Inc. later merged with Benchmark Mortgage in 2011. I married my wife (Jamie) in June of 2012 and we have a boxer named O’Malley. We enjoy attending/watching ECU football games, the Philadelphia Eagles, the beach, deep sea fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

I knew I wanted to be in Finance after taking FINA 1904 (Personal Finance) at ECU. The course taught us about money management skills, retirement planning, the importance of maintaining a good credit history and purchasing strategies. After completing this course, I changed my major from accounting to finance.

Today, I often apply many of those same skills I learned in FINA 1904 with my clients. We discuss short term and long term goals, debt strategies, the importance of a good credit history, etc. and then tailor a mortgage plan that best fits their individual needs.

I enjoy working with first time home buyers and watching them achieve their goal of homeownership. I also specialize in helping those who are self employed. Benchmark offers a wide variety of mortgage products and I look forward to helping you make optimal financial decisions.
